Prof. Shishir Sinha

Prof. Shishir Sinha, is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He is also Adjunct faculty Centre for Disaster Mitigation and Management, IIT Roorkee. Presently he is holding the position of Director, Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology Sultanpur (An autonomous technical institute of Government of U.P.). He is among the leading academician in India who are working on technologies of national importance such as waste polymer to value added products. Prof. Sinha has more than 22 years of academic and industrial research experience with 82 reputed publications besides more than 100 in conference proceedings. Apart from this he has written 10 booksand several book chapters. Successfully completed over 22 high impactprojects and consultancies valued more than 152.79 million Indian Rupees. Prof. Sinha has developed two technologies and transferred them to different organizations. Apart from he has filed five patents as on date. He has also organized many conferences on areas related to his specialization. He is member of various government and scientific bodies. Apart from this he has formulated several national and international MoUs between IIT Roorkee and institution/ university of repute like University of Strasbourg, University of Cranfield, RGIPT etc.
Prof. Sinha is a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, Fellow of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India)and Fellow ofInternational Society for Energy, Environment and Sustainability. He is also member of many expert committees constituted by government and non-government organizations. His research interests are in the areas related to Membrane Separation, Water Treatment, Polymer Synthesis and Modification, Ion Exchangers, Composites.


Prof. Mohammad Jawaid

Title of the Talk: Flammability study of Kenaf and Oil Palm based Hybrid composites

Prof. Mohammad Jawaidis currently working as Senior Fellow (Professor) at Biocomposite Technology Laboratory, Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia, and also has been Visiting Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since June 2013. He has more than 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and industries. His area of research interests includes hybrid composites, lignocellulosic reinforced/filled polymer composites, advance materials: graphene/nanoclay/fire retardant, modification and treatment of lignocellulosic fibres and solid wood, biopolymers and biopolymers for packaging applications, nanocomposites and nanocellulose fibres, and polymer blends. So far, he has published 40 books, 65 book chapters, more than 350 peer-reviewed international journal papers, and several published review papers under top 25 hot articles in science direct during 2013–2019. He also obtained 2 Patents and 6 Copyrights. H-index and citation in Scopus are 56 and 15077 and in Google scholar, H-index and citation are 68 and 21172. Recently he joined as Chief Executive Editor of Pertanika UPM Journals. He is founding Series Editor of Composite Science and Technology Book Series from Springer-Nature, and also Series Editor of Springer Proceedings in Materials, Springer-Nature and also International Advisory board member of Springer Series on Polymer and Composite Materials. Presently, he is supervising 12 Ph.D. students and 6 Master’s students in the fields of hybrid composites, green composites, nanocomposites, natural fiber-reinforced composites, nanocellulose, etc. 26 Ph.D. and 13 Master’s students graduated under his supervision in 2014–2020. Recently he was recognized with Fellow and Chartered Scientist Award from Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM), UK. He is also a life member of Asian Polymer Association, and Malaysian Society for Engineering and Technology.

Prof. Aseri is currently Provost, Dean – Academics & Director Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Amity University Rajasthan, having 18 years of experience in academic administration in higher education. As subject expertise in Microbiology he is heading Amity Institute of Microbial Technology (AIMT), running Ph.D, UG & PG programs and research is well recognized by DST, DBT -BIRAC, ICAR, ICMR, MoFPI, Ministry of Agriculture – Govt. of India. In Amity University he has served as Director – Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Registrar, Dy. Dean – Academics, Director – Placements. He has initiated academic reforms and as Chairman – NAAC Steering Committee organized inspection successfully. Other then Amity University he has worked as Director – Institute of Biomedical Education and Research at Mangalayatan University and Faculty at Lachoo Memorial College of Science & Technology (Affl. Jai Narain Vyas University - JNVU Jodhpur). He has done his doctorate degree from ICAR - Central Arid Zone Research Institute (Degree Registered from JNVU) in 2001. He had been received JRF and SRF fellowship from CSIR – UGC and ICAR – CAZRI.

Prof. Aseri has completed research projects funded by DST, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of food processing industries (MoFPI - GOI). Besides guided Ph.D. degrees he has submitted 02 patents and published 62 research papers/presentations in International & National Research Journals. He has presented his work at Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Egypt, Singapore & Nepal and organized international / national conferences in his subject arena. He has also designed and developed PG & UG programs in the area of Microbiology & Biotechnology i.e. M.Sc. Industrial Microbiology, M. Tech. Biotechnology & B.Sc. Microbiology. He has given consultancy to various Food & Beverage Industries (Bisleri, Kingfisher & Sri Ram Gums etc.) for their product development and Quality Control.

Dr. Neyara is working as an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Department, Faculty of Engineering, Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt. She is also an Assistant Professor and the Quality Assurance Officer for the Ph.D. program, faculty of Economics & Administration, King Abdulaziz University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She has more than 20 years' experience in teaching and research work.
Dr. Neyara published many papers in high quality peer reviewed journals as well as she serves as editorial board member in many international journals. She also serves as a reviewer in many international journals. She participated as a Keynote Speaker in many international conferences in many countries such as: Italy, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, and India.
Dr. Neyara is an active member in many international academic communities. Moreover, she got a full membership in the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), based in Italy.
Dr. Neyara got many national and international awards such as: Award of Excellence in Accreditation Work Contribution form King Abdulaziz University, 2019 and Certificate of Recognition from the United Nations Associations of Somalia (UNASOM), in recognition of contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals 2020. Dr. Anjana Jain

Dr.Jain has done MSc MPhil in Physics and PhD in the field of Aerospace polymers. Her background of a harmonious combination of basic and applied aspects of Physics and exposure to technology requirements has enabled her to successfully develop cutting edge technologies for applications to Aerospace, Defense, and Industries. One such technology is the Development and Characterization of piezoelectric PVDF and its composite films for transducer applications for which she has been awarded the “National Awards for Technology innovation” by Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. She is also Raman Research Fellow for which she was deputed to University of Illinois at Chicago, USA for anti-icing applications. She also has received the Best Women Scientist award from NAL. Her work is very important for aerospace industries. She has contributed to many National programs viz., NPMASS, NPMICAV, GTMAP, AR&DB, CSIR etc. for aerospace applications like, strain measurement, acoustic sensing, pressure sensing, structural health monitoring, ultrasonic sensing, energy harvesting, flapping wing applications etc. for organizations like NAL, NPL, IISc, IITs, ARDE Pune, GTRE etc. She is awarded with Dr. M. Pancholi Memorial Award by Ultrasonics Society of India.


Dr. Gaurav Manik

Prof. Manik is currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Polymer and Process Engineering at IIT Roorkee since 2018. He joined IITR in January 2013 as Assistant Professor in the same department. He holds a PhD (IIT Bombay), M.Tech (IIT Kanpur) and B.Tech (HBTI Kanpur) in Chemical Engineering. Prior to joining IITR, he has served extensively in industry (3M, Indo Gulf Fertilizers & Chem. Ltd., Classic Stripes Pvt. Ltd.) and academia (BITS Pilani, BIET Jhansi) totaling up his rich experience to 16+ years. In industry, he is credited with creating and commercializing several innovative products and protecting IP through significant number of patents and record of inventions. His research interests include: Molecular modeling and simulations of polymers/materials, Chemical process modeling and simulation, Development of novel and industrially significant polymer composites, coatings, sealants and adhesives. He has ~100 research publications in international peer reviewed SCI journals, patent applications, conferences and book chapters. He has significantly valued 41 publications in peer-reviewed Chemical Engineering and Polymer Journals of repute such as Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Energy, Composites B: Engineering, Polymer, to name a few and holds 6 granted patents/patent applications of industrial commercial relevance, contributed to 11 books, and made 41 conference publications. He has executed 5 research projects and supervised 1 post-doctoral, 2 PhD (+7 ongoing), 10 M.Tech students and 23 B.Tech projects. In his department at IIT Roorkee, he has recorded amongst the highest average number of research journal publications/patent applications consistently in the last few years and maintained amongst the highest student appraisal score of in teaching. Among several awards received by him to disseminate professional knowledge and research, he has been awarded with the prestigious APAC level TechForum Contribution Award at 3M, and secondment as visiting faculty sanctioned by the President of India for teaching at international platform at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, and VICAL Award for Best Paper by Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChe), India. He has been an invited speaker, guest and sessions chair at several national and international conferences and workshops in India and abroad.


Dr. M.V.Reddy

Prof. Reddy is Senior Researcher at Institute of Research Hydro-Quebec, Montreal, Canada, He obtained his Ph. D (2003) ( mention with highest honors) in the area of Materials Science from ICMCB-CNRS)/ENSCPB, University of Bordeaux, France. From July 2003- April 2019, he worked in Departments of Physics, Materials Science & Engineering and Chemistry, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore as senior Research fellow. For the last 20 years, he has been working on the nano/submicron sized materials for Li-ion battery materials (cathodes, anodes, supercapacitors and solid electrolytes), including novel methods of synthesis, characterization and evaluation of the electrochemical properties. He has published over 200 papers in various international journals and he gave 80 talks (Plenary, keynote and Invited talks) at various conferences. His h-index; 61 and 14000 citations ( source google scholar). He authored a landmark publication on electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries and their reaction mechanisms that appeared in Chemical Reviews (impact factor over 54; the paper has been cited over 2300 times since 2013). He trained many local high school/college and International exchange students and Ph.D students.
